About the Cover Art

Camille Pissarro was a Danish-French impressionist painter around the turn of the century. He was also an anarchist. It is said that not much of his written political ideology exists, but that he was a subscriber to anarchist journals and a well-known advocate for egalitarian humanitarian rights, and that his political views may have inspired his art.

I enjoy this era of art and scholarship, and the depiction of women working in a field, as it seems to highlight the beauty of nature, of women’s circles, and of balanced labor in unison.
